Third Rail Mobility introduces its Third Rail System battery case for smartphones that includes the Slim power-ready protective case and Smart Battery universal, interchangeable, removable battery. Unlike other smartphone battery cases, Third Rail’s system provides several different usage modes in one simple system – functioning as a protective case, a power case, a portable external charger and a power hub for charging multiple devices at one time.


The Third Rail System will be initailly available for the iPhone 4. The Slim Case is the thinnest battery-enabled case on the market, while the Smart Battery is a super-slim, 1.4-ounce rechargeable 1250 mAh lithium­ion battery. Unlike other battery cases with built-in battery, the Smart Battery slides onto the Slim Case for an easy charge and can be removed when power is not needed, leaving users a sleek, slim protective case.


The Third Rail System battery case is priced at $89.99 while individual components are sold separately: $39.99 for the iPhone 4 Slim Case and $59.99 for an additional Smart Battery.

Motion Computing releases its CL900 enterprise-built rugged tablet PC. Designed for the challenging conditions, the lightweight slate PC is rugged from the inside out meeting MIL-STD-810G and IP52 rating. The CL900 sports an Intel Atom Z670 1.5GHz processor, 1GB/2GB RAM, 30GB/62GB solid state drive and integrated graphics.

The CL900 has a 10.1-inch 1366×768 touchscreen supporting both Touch and Pen inputs and with Gorilla Glass Display Protection. Comcast Xfinity Internet 2go 4G/3G Mobile Hotspot

Comcast launches a personal 4G/3G mobile hotspot, the MiFi 4082 by Novatel Wireless, for its Xfinity Internet 2go service. The devices connects to 4G or 3G network and shares the connection to up to five WiFi-enabled devices.
Comcast’s mobile hotspot is basically the same as Sprint’s MiFi 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot. It supports fast download speeds of up to 6 Mbps with 4G service and up to 1.4 Mbps with 3G service. Its rechargeable battery provides hours of Internet access. New Xfinity Internet 2go customers can get the hotspot for a $25 one-time fee with a qualifying Xfinity Internet 2go service plan.

LG XE1 and XE2 USB 3.0 Hard Drives

LG launches in Korea its XE1 and XE2 USB 3.0 hard drives, both available in 500GB, 750GB and 1TB capacities. The 2.5-inch drives support USB 3.0 interface and are backward compatible with USB 2.0. The XE1 will have a glossy case while the XE2 gets matt design.

The new 9055-LM sports a large 7-inch touchscreen for easy viewing and comes pre-loaded with maps of the 50 United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico and more than 6 million points of interest locations, AAA TourBook guide with Diamond ratings. It also features Free Lifetime Traffic for continual updates of traffic conditions in traffic-congested North American cities.


The RoadMate 9055-LM also includes Bluetooth for hands-free operation of mobile phones. It also offers Highway Lane Assist which guides the driver into the proper lane for upcoming lane changes and exits. Ion Audio releases the Anyroom wireless speaker system for use with iPhone and iPod. With the included iPod/iPhone transmitter dongle, CD-quality audio can be transmitted wirelessly from your iPod or iPhone directly to the Anyroom speakers throughout your home.

Verizon and Casio launches the G’zOne Commando, a rugged Android smartphone ideal for the business environment, especially for fields such as construction, transportation, manufacturing, utilities and healthcare. The rugged phone runs Android 2.2. It meets Military Standards 810G for Immersion, Rain, Shock and Dust Resistant, Vibration, Salt Fog, Humidity, Solar Radiation, Altitude, Low and High Temperature Storage.

The G’zOne Commando sports a 3.6-inch 480×800 touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera, LED flash and camcorder, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. It includes Mobile Hotspot capability to share 3G connection with up to five WiFi-enabled devices. Casio’s G’zOne Commando is available for $199.99 with a 2-year contract.

Sony announced two new compact Android smartphones, the Xperia mini and the Xperia mini pro, building on the success of X10 mini X10 mini pro. These new mini phones are powered by 1GHz Qualcomm SnapDragon processor and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.

The Xperia mini and mini pro both feature 3-inch Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine and 5 Megapixel camera with LED flash, 720p HD video recording. They mini pro adds a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a front-facing VGA camera for video chat. The new Xperia phones support Bluetooth, GPS/AGPS, DLNA and WiFi connectivity. They come with 2GB microSD card and support up to 32GB.
The Xperia mini and Xperia mini pro work with UMTS/HSPA and quad-band GSM/EDGE networks. Both phones will be available in Q3. The former will come in black, white, dark pink and blue while the latter comes in black, white, pink and turquoise.

Sprint Motorola XPRT and Motorola Titanium Android Phones for Business

Sprint unveils two new Android smartphones with enhanced business-ready capabilities from Motorola, the XPRT and Titanium. Both devices have bar-type form factor and full QWERTY keyboard. The former is Sprint’s version of DROID Pro and is the first Android smartphone from Sprint to deliver enterprise-class security, personal productivity enhancements and international roaming; while the Titanium leverages Sprint’s industry-leading Push-to-Talk capabilities as the first Nextel Direct Connect smartphone built on Android 2.1.

The Motorola XPRT is powered by 1GHz processor and runs Android 2.2. It delivers business-class security features with 256-bit AES data encryption. The phone features a 3.1-inch HVGA touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel camera with camcorder and dual LED flash, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and a microSD card slot. The XPRT is a world phone supporting both CDMA (EVDO Rev. A) and GSM/UMTS (HSPA) networks and includes 3G Mobile Hotspot capability, supporting up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices simultaneously.
The Motorola Titanium, on the other hand, is the successor to the Motorola i1 and supports Nextel Direct Connect Services. It is certified to Military Specification 810G for dust, shock, vibration, low pressure, solar radiation, high temperature and low temperature. The rugged QWERTY phone runs Android 2.1 and sports a 3.1-inch touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel camera with camcorder and flash, Bluetooth, GPS support, WiFi and microSD slot.
The Motorola XPRT will be available for $129.99 with two-year service agreement, and the pricing and availability for Motorola Titanium will be announced at a later date.

Samsung SENS-240 Car Navigation Tablet

Samsung announced in Korea its new SENS-240 car navigation tablet. According to Samsung, the multi-functional device will bring your phone’s voice, data, and video features to its 7-inch touchscreen via Bluetooth, when you are driving. Users may also use their smartphone or tablet to control the SENS-240.
Powered by a 1.43GHz processor, the SENS-240 has 256MB of RAM. It comes with a 7-inch 800×480 touchscreen, DMB tuner, USB host port and SD card slot. As a navigation tablet, the SENS-240 can show you 3D maps.

HTC Add a Tablet and Facebook Mobile

The format of the Mobile World Congress 2011, mobile phone manufacturers from Taiwan, HTC, announced six new products. The six new products that are HTC Salsa, Chacha HTC, HTC Incredible S, HTC Desire S, S Wildfire HTC, and HTC Flyer.

Interestingly, the HTC Flyer is the their first tablet. Meanwhile, the other two, HTC Salsa and Chacha, is a phone with special features up.

First tablet

HTC Flyer uses 7-inch touch screen with 1024 x 600 pixels. This device uses the Android platform 2.3 or Gingerbread. In addition to navigation with a finger, users can also use the stylus which is available as a means of navigation on the touch screen.

The first tablet is made by HTC features 1.5 GHz processor (single core), memory 1 GB of RAM and 32 GB storage media. In the back there is a 5 MP camera and in front of 1.3 MP. HTC Flyer will be available starting the second quarter of 2011.

Facebook Phone

LG Stay Android Market to Japan

SEOUL - LG Electronics Inc. still plans to introduce an Android-based tablet computers in Japan this month. It will still be done even though Japan is still struggling with post-disaster Settling.

"No reason to reschedule," said Ken Hong, a spokesman for LG today, Thursday (17/03/2011).

Two New Nokia Smartphone Use Anna Symbian

Symbian era has not ended. Although Nokia has decided to use Microsoft's Windows Phone as homemade smartphone platform forward, a number of models with Symbian will continue to be released.

Nokia, on Tuesday (04/12/2011), introduced two new smartphones using the Symbian platform, called Anna's latest. Each Nokia E6 is designed for businesses and Nokia X7 for fans of entertainment. The second device is Nokia's first smartphone using the Symbian software with the latest updates, with new icons and improved usability, such as text input easier, faster browser, and Ovi Maps are more fresh.
